Information about the precious stone
Information about the precious stone
Origin:
Emerald is a precious variety of the mineral beryl and belongs to the silicate mineral group. Its characteristic green color is primarily due to traces of chromium and sometimes vanadium. Emeralds have been sought after since ancient times and have been found in various regions of the world, including Colombia, Zambia, Brazil, and Afghanistan. The most famous source of high-quality emeralds is the Colombian region of Muzo.
Special features:
The green color of emeralds varies from light green to deep green, with the most valuable stones exhibiting a uniform, intense color. Emeralds are often riddled with natural inclusions and cracks known as "jardins." These inclusion patterns are characteristics of the stone and help distinguish natural, treated, and synthetic emeralds. Due to their relative rarity and the abundance of natural inclusions, high-quality emeralds are particularly prized.
